MAGNUM SIZED PERFORMANCE IN A COMPACT PACKAGE!

"My go-to sleds for almost all conditions. Stay soft my friends." - Blair Conklin

The 54 Special has all the magical Catch Surf® DNA packed tight into one high-caliber ripping board. This pint-sized shred stick is the love child of the Beater® Original 54 and the Odysea® Stump; making it a snub-nosed section killer. Blast an air or pack a pit, the 54 Special has you covered!

The 54 Special has a deep entry concave and vee out the tail; creating a nicely rockered rail with a flat center line. This provides excellent speed down the line, but super-responsive turning once the rail is engaged. The 54 Special is a step forward in design and performance that pushes the boundaries of what is possible on a soft surfboard. Big things do come in small packages.

Q&A

Does this board come with fins or do I need to buy them separately?
Hello Mega - ALL our surfboards come with fins; so all you need is a leash and surf wax (find those under "Board Accessories". The 54 Special comes with our Hi-Performance Fins and Fin System. The included fins are removable and made of a light composite material for drive and responsiveness. However, we do offer an upgrade fin set; called our ULTRA Performance Fins. These are made of honey-comb fiberglass offering an even lighter, more responsive fin option to max out the performance of the 54 Special. Thank you for your question!
Can the Special be used as a boogie board like the Beater?
Hello Dave - The 54 Special is designed to be ridden as a surfboard only. The Beater was designed to offer a more customizable experience; where you can surf if finless, finned, skim it or ride as bodyboard. If you are looking for the high-performance shortboard of softboards, get the 54 Special. If you are looking for an all-purpose shred sled to ride standing or prone (like bodyboard), get the Beater (if adult, get 54" size) Thank you!
I’m 5’4ft tall and almost 100 pound do you think this board is too small?
Hello! For your size and weight this board would be a good option for you! Happy shredding!
Is this board good for beginners? And also will it be good for small gulf waves?
Hello! This is not the best option for a beginner! A bigger board with more float is better for someone new to surfing! For surfing waves in the gulf, a 8'0 or 9'0 LOG would be great options! Happy shredding!
If you take the fins off can you use it as a skim board ?
Hello! YES! The 54 Special is basically a softboard skim! Happy shredding!
